Easy & Delicious Banana Bread

Who doesn’t love a good banana bread? Even better, one that doesn’t require a lot of ingredients? I used to have a family favorite, but it actually had mayonnaise in it, along with a long list of other items. Recently I decided to go searching for a newer, easier and just as good recipe, when I found this one, Easy & Delicious Banana Bread, that I’m about to share.

I love baking! While I don’t tend to enjoy eating is much as I do baking it, there is the odd exception – including this one. A month or so ago, I was looking to use up so old bananas when I decided to ditch my old recipe for a new one. That’s when I stumbled upon this recipe and have been making it ever since.

Easy to Prepare with Only Eight Ingredients

Not only does it have a short list of ingredients, it’s also very moist and delicious. Even better, the picky eater in our home, the one I was telling you about a week or so ago when I shared Easy Homemade Ideas for School Lunches, he even likes it. He’s actually requested I make it for his school lunches too. While I dread having to bake the same thing every weekend, it helps that this recipe is so easy to make, and is much healthier than a package of fruit snacks (or at least I like to think so, because it’s homemade).

Easy & Delicious Banana Bread

Prep time: 20 minutes  |  Cook time: 1 hour 20 minutes  |  Makes 1 Loaf


3 over ripe bananas, mashed
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla


  1. Preheat the oven to 325ºF.
  2. Combine the bananas, eggs, sugar, oil, milk and vanilla.
  3. Add the baking soda and flour.
  4. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
